Hi, I’m Martijn van Exel. I am a Map Technologist 🗺 living in lovely Salt Lake City, Utah ⛰ with my wife and cats.

I run MapRoulette, an open source microtasking platform used by 1000s of OSM contributors. I have worked at TomTom and Telenav on improving mapmaking practices and technology, borrowing heavily from my experience in the open mapping community. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the OpenStreetMap US Chapter, and have served on the Board of Directors of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. I have helped organize at least a half dozen State Of The Map conferences and countless smaller community events and initiatives.

I maintain and contribute to a bunch of open source software projects, mostly related to open data and OpenStreetMap.

Find me on Twitter, Github, my blog, and email.
